It's not some fancy cocktail that's served in a posh, French restaurant, that's for sure. I call it Piscatorial Therapy. And as a skipper, and certified Piscatorial Therapist, I willingly administer large doses to those who dare to indulge. Beware, however, once you've tasted the salt on your lips, heard the screams of multiple reels, felt the throb of a 20# torpedo on a sounding run, and smelled the life blood of albacore TUNA!, a single dose is never enough. And at the end of the day, you'll be begging for more. |
Greetings! And welcome to the official Team Aqua Velvet Web site. This has been long over due. Although the primary focus of this site is to share our Oregon Coast TUNA! fishing experiences with you, I also plan to include other outdoor experiences I share with my friends and family. It will take a bit of time to completely fill in the content, but I look forward to posting photo albums, high quality videos and other fun stuff.
My primary motivation, however, is my enthusiasm and support of various sport fishing organizations. One of which is the Oregon Tuna Classic. The OTC is an event that benefits the Oregon Food Bank through donations of fresh caught Albacore TUNA! and cash funds. According to an OFB News Release, the 2007 OTC had enough participation to donate 7,000 pounds of food and $25,000 cash. The 2007 OTC was Team Aqua Velvet's first year of participation in the event. We were fortunate enough to place 6th out of nearly 50 teams for the Garibaldi, OR event. It was truly a fulfilling and fun event and an honor to contribute to such a worthy cause. Team Aqua Velvet will also be participating in the 2008 OTC.
