We'll Take You There - But You Won't Want To Leave

It all started in April of 2006 when my brother in law called me to ask if I would help him build a web site so that he could sell his boat on line.  After a brief discussion, I began to wonder if it was in my best interest to help him.  After we talked more, I brought up the possibility of me purchasing the boat from him.  We struck a deal and the adventure began.  The first step was to determine how to get the boat from Oklahoma, where my brother in law lived, to my residence in Oregon.  We decided to meet in Denver.  My dad and I flew to Denver and met my brother in law who towed the boat from OK.

This was our first meeting and the beginning of a wonderful relationship.

We sealed the deal and I became the new owner of this 25' Cobia Odyssey 265.

We rented a Budget box van and towed her 1322 miles through Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and finally across Northern Oregon to her new home.

After two days on the road, riding in the box van, we finally arrived at dry dock.  She sure makes the house look small.

Some things will need to be changed to prepare for the Pacific Ocean adventures.  The name will be changed to Aqua Velvet.  The swim step will be shortened to make room for a trolling motor and trim tabs will be added.  More of that on the modifications page.

Beautiful interior and helm.  Nicely updated and family friendly.

Room for two for an overnight stay.

The powerhouse - a built 300 HP 5.7L motor turns an OMC Cobra outdrive.

There have only been a few times in my life when I've had this expression - my wedding, the birth of my children and the day I brought my boat home.
